Privacy

The short version: we count anonymous page views with Vercel Web Analytics — no cookies, nothing that follows you between sites — and we never run ads or sell your data.

What we measure

Vercel Web Analytics tells us which pages people visit and how the site performs. Each view records the page address, the site you arrived from, a rough location (country, region and city), and your device type, operating system and browser. Nothing persists between visits: visitors are counted from a hash of the request itself, and that hash is discarded after 24 hours, so tomorrow the same person is simply a new number. We see totals, never a person.

Cookies

None. The analytics is cookieless — it writes nothing to your device and reads nothing from it — which is why there is no banner to dismiss and nothing to opt out of. The site does keep a few things in your browser's local storage, because you put them there: your saved universes in the Notebook, your challenge progress, and which missions you have finished. That never leaves your browser and we cannot see it. The private admin area uses a sign-in cookie, which visitors never touch.

Universes you create

When you ignite a universe it's saved to the public Graveyard as an anonymous record — just its settings and outcome, never anything about you. If you choose to name one, that name is shown publicly, so don't put anything private in it. This isn't analytics; ask us to remove any universe and we will.

Search engines

When pages change we notify search engines through IndexNow so they re-crawl sooner. That shares only public URLs — never anything about you.

Your choices

There is no profile to see, correct or delete, because nothing here identifies you in the first place. If you would rather not be counted at all, any content blocker will stop the analytics script and the site works exactly the same without it. Anything you saved in the Notebook is yours: clear this site's storage in your browser and it is gone. The project is open source, so you can see exactly what runs.
