Six numbers hold reality together

The Universe Tuner puts the constants of physics on sliders. Gravity (N) sets how hard matter pulls on matter — ours is fantastically weak, which is exactly why stars burn slowly enough for biology to have time to happen. The nuclear glue (ε) decides how efficiently hydrogen fuses into helium: about 0.007 of its mass becomes energy. A hair lower and nothing fuses at all — hydrogen forever, no starlight, no chemistry. A hair higher and every proton pairs off in the first minutes, leaving no water and no long, slow suns.

Cosmic density (Ω) decides whether the universe falls back on itself or thins out before anything can gather. Dark energy (Λ) is how hard empty space pushes apart — too much, too early, and the gas is scattered before a single galaxy forms. Lumpiness (Q), near one part in 100,000, seeded every structure you can see. And D, the number of spatial dimensions, is three — which alone permits stable orbits and stable atoms. Three further dials go deeper still: how much matter outlasted antimatter (η), the invisible dark-matter scaffolding structure gathers on (χ), and the reach of chemistry itself (α).

Move any of them far enough and the cosmos forgets how to make you: an ocean of hydrogen, a sky of black holes, a sea of pure radiation, a universe that recollapses before the first star. The window that permits observers is thinner than a razor — and noticing that we sit inside it is the anthropic principle in a single sentence.

Honest about the model: these are toy simulations — the right orders of magnitude, dressed up for drama. They exist to give you intuition and vertigo, not to pass peer review. Where they simplify, we say so.
